The Pilates Stretch is comprised of all muscle contractions simultaneously to create length in the spine first then through all extremities. The fact that you build the deep contraction not only builds and reinforces your neuromuscular connections but creates a definition that exceeds conventional lifting. This is why MEN that have a regular Pilates practice look taller, leaner and more muscular then those that don't. If your in shape or out of shape, an athlete, a weekend warrior, young or old, Pilates will build strength, coordination, stability, mobility, balance and control efficiently and effectively with little to no impact while building neuromuscular connections.
