Any injury requires rest, and before surgery, it is natural to just rest.
After injuring his ACL, one of our favorite members did not stop to rest. Instead, he came to GRIT Pilates & Yoga.
3 days post ACL reconstruction surgery he was off crutches and back on his feet because of Pilates. Pilates continues to be his answer to working out while lowering the risk of joint pain.
Approximately 1.3 billion people worldwide are affected by some form of musculoskeletal disorder, disorders that can last a long time, cost a lot to take care of and alter life.
Studies have tested Pilates for the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. The most frequent musculoskeletal condition examined was chronic low back pain, but other conditions could be cervical spine pain, knee osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
The study's duration ranged from 6 to 16 weeks, with 8 weeks being the most frequent. Participants who attend Pilates 2-3 days a week for 50-60 minutes have the best results.
72& of the studies strongly proved that Pilates is effective in reducing pain and disability. Despite pilates not officially being included or taught as a rehab method, the study supports that pilates can be a viable option for getting back to full health and more.
Pilates is an investment to keep you healthy for years. Invest in your health at the right place, a place that pushes you to be the best you, a place that helps you find your GRIT.
We hope to see you soon.
