Student and Athlete Training
GRIT works with high school athletes, college athletes, graduates, developing athletes, and active adults. Student pricing can support both high school and college students, and athlete work can also happen through personal training appointments.
Explosive Edge
Explosive Edge is designed for students and athletes who need speed, power, mobility, core strength, agility, balance, and overall body control. Sessions can include A-skips and B-skips on the jumpboard so athletes can practice speed mechanics with less ground impact, plus kettlebells and basic reformer work to teach mind-body connection.
Pad Training and Conditioning
Pad training and conditioning is available by appointment through personal training. Sessions may include boxing pad work, metabolic conditioning, hand-eye coordination, footwork, agility, kettlebells, weightlifting, reformer work, and focus.
Team Training Grand Rapids Programs
Teams can book private sessions at GRIT. Private team sessions are useful for coaches, parents, captains, schools, clubs, and small performance groups that want a coach-led session built around strength, control, balance, rotation, and conditioning.
Find the
Right Reformer Class
Every GRIT class has a purpose. Some sessions focus on set sequences and alignment. Others bring more power, props, cardio, kettlebells, jumpboard work, or athletic intensity. The common thread is coaching, form correction, and strength-first Pilates that meets you where you are without watering down the work.
Active and featured reformer options are organized below so the site keeps the full service story without presenting inactive classes as live weekly staples.
If you are looking for wellness coaching Grand Rapids options that feel direct and training-focused, GRIT keeps the conversation grounded in performance, muscle, recovery, and sustainable habits.

Retired as regular gate
Beginner foundations now route through Start Here and private coaching
Signature GRIT is the anchor class for members who want consistency, coaching, and measurable progress. This set sequence helps you learn the work, refine alignment, build strength, and understand how the reformer should feel in your body.
Because the structure is familiar, you can focus on getting better instead of guessing what comes next. Expect a class that challenges control, breath, stability, and full-body connection. Signature GRIT can be kept simple for a newer client and made more demanding for experienced clients through tempo, focus, range, and time under tension.
Classes for Men, Women, and Active Seniors
GRIT keeps men’s Pilates as a true differentiator, but the studio is not men-only. The goal is Pilates for every body: men, women, beginners, athletes, older adults, and people who want to train hard with better control.
Men's GRIT Reformer
Men’s GRIT Reformer is built around power, precision, and performance. This format helps men build strength, improve flexibility, train core stability, and connect reformer work to movement outside the studio. It is a strong fit for men who lift, play sports, sit too much, feel stiff, or think Pilates is only stretching.5
Silver and Fit
Silver and Fit is designed for active seniors and focuses on strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and mind-body connection. The goal is to help clients feel centered, capable, and confident through coach-led reformer work.
Beginner Foundations Without Reformer 101
Reformer 101 was designed for first-time clients, but it is not the active regular entry point. GRIT now recommends the Start Here path and private foundations when possible. That gives you time to learn the machine, spring changes, setup, cueing, and class expectations before moving into the group schedule.
Experienced movers are not blocked from group training. If you have reformer experience, athletic training experience, or strong body awareness, contact GRIT or choose an appropriate class and be ready to work.
Dynamic Reformer
Dynamic Reformer combines GRIT’s reformer techniques with strength and athletic training. Sessions may use the jumpboard, resistance bands, the circle, kettlebells, mat core exercises, and other props depending on the class plan.
This class is built to enhance core stability, build strength, and increase flexibility while keeping the workout active and engaging. It can serve beginners through advanced practitioners because the coach can adjust pace, setup, and intensity. If you want a class that feels more athletic, less routine, and closer to strength training on the reformer, Dynamic Reformer may be the right fit.
Jumpboard and Kettlebell Reformer
Jumpboard brings circuit-style endurance, stability, flexibility, and low-impact power. Kettlebell Reformer adds an athletic strength component with kettlebells, reformer resistance, core work, and jumpboard-style elements when appropriate.
GRIT coaches may adjust a class based on the people in the room. If a class is posted as Signature and the group is ready for jumpboard or kettlebell work, the coach can shape the session while still keeping the GRIT method at the center.
